Youth and Family Update

Dear Members and Friends,

Can you believe the weather is finally showing signs of spring? I am so excited for the warm weather to have a permanent stay. We are in the home stretch of our new Workshop Rotational Model in Sunday School.  Our students are focusing on The Fruits of the Spirit.  We will be celebrating the end of the year with an outside (weather permitting) field day for all of our church members and friends to attend.  We will have fun games for the kids, and plenty of food for the grownups.  I am really looking forward to celebrating a wonderful year of Sunday School.

Confirmation Class is wrapping up in the next few weeks as well.  The students are finishing up their projects and will be confirmed in Church on May 20th at the 8:30am service.  We will rejoice in the addition of all of these new members to Zion.  Confirmation is not an end to their Christian education, but a beginning to a lifelong journey of faith.

Finally, a few of our young adults will be traveling down to Houston in late June for the ELCA Gathering – a Lutheran youth experience that is tailored to our students. We look forward to hearing back from them about their time in Texas.

Peace and Blessings,
Courtney Rzeplinski
Director of Youth and Family Ministries
