June Council Highlights

The Church Council met on June 21.  Highlights include:

· WiFi has been installed at the church.
· The photography sessions for the new church directory have concluded.  Fifty families were photographed over the course of four days.
· The June 19 National Alliance on Mental Illness presentation was not well attended but was an excellent program.
· Only 12 children have signed up for Vacation Bible School.
· Electronic giving through the tithe.ly app has been advertised but possibly not yet “absorbed” by the congregation.  It was suggested that we have a “Bring Your Phone to Church” Sunday where everyone could be instructed on how to use the app.
· The church bell restoration will be completed this month.
· Director Anthony Briggs will be invited to the July 12 Council meeting to discuss the future of Cross Roads Camp.
· God’s Work Our Hands will take place on September 9, and will be assembly of food bags for the Flemington Food Pantry.
· CEB use agreements with the Mosaic Freeschool and Kids Homeschool Network for 2018-19 were approved.
· July & August office hours will be Tuesday-Thursday from 9 to 2.  The office will be closed on Mondays and Fridays.
· Thank you to:
* Barbara Surhoff for organizing the NAMI presentation.
* Jenny & Mark Heeman for providing AV support for the NAMI presentation.
* Jenny Gelson, Ken Holman, and Joanne Rupp for helping with the new church directory.
* John & Audrey Ruland for cleaning the stones in the Memorial Garden.

The next meeting of the Church Council will be on Thursday, July 12.  Meetings are open for all to attend.
