Youth & Family Ministries Update

Dear Members and Friends,

Happy July!  This month I am focusing on two things. The biggest being The Youth Ministry Book Study. In just a few weeks we will have crafted a purpose statement for Zion’s youth ministry. The YOZ program has been lacking in focus and direction over the past few years, and our team aims to redirect this very important ministry. We are focusing on the five main purposes of a youth ministry — Worship, Evangelism, Fellowship, Ministry, and Discipleship. These concepts can sometimes be hard to grasp for our young members, so the group has established synonyms that we will be working with moving forward. They are as follows.

Worship – Praising
Evangelism – Sharing God’s love
Fellowship – Connecting
Ministry – Discovering
Discipleship – Growing

I will be sharing with you our team’s progress in the coming newsletters!

Also happening in July is Vacation Bible School. I am very thankful for Melanie Hodges who is again our VBS director! It’s sure to be a great time. If you haven’t yet signed up, there is still time. Please contact the church office for registration information!

Peace,
Courtney Rzeplinski
